Living Universal Values

Our Founders

The special guardians of LUV are Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi and Swami Vivekananda of Hindu origins.

LUV will honor but will not be limited by the Hindu religion. Actually, none of these three great souls should be limited by the Hindu religion—they can relate to anyone of any affiliation.

Swami Vivekananda, Sri Ramakrishna, Sri Sarada Devi

Swami Vivekananda has been credited with first bringing the wisdom of "the yogas" to the West. More can be learned about these specific spiritual teachers at www.Vedanta.org and many other such web sites. "Vedanta" is the deep Wisdom which is the foundation of Hinduism.

"Modern Vedanta" has been defined by Revered Swami Sarvagatananda of Boston/Providence thus: "Vedanta means spiritual Wisdom. It is a way of living and realizing. It gives full freedom to each individual to evolve morally and spiritually according to his or her own faith and conviction." This is the special interpretation which LUV will endeavor to practice.

Sister Pr. Akhanda-prana has been a nun at the Vedanta Society of Southern California for over 20 years and has been actively working with children and members there. She first learned about Vedanta while living in Boston.

Sivea Key or "Seva" of Ft. Collins is a mom, wife, business owner, who has experience teaching pre-school, coaching Odyssey of the Mind and moderating group meetings.

The meaning of their Sanskrit names will tell who they really are: "Sarva-gata-nanda" means "love and joy going everywhere."

"Akhanda-prana" means "indivisible energy."

"Seva" means serving, waiting upon, attending, nursing, worshipping, following and thereby exemplifying and leading.

LUV hopes to create a new order of people - "Sevaks" - who sacrifice for and serve, Universal Values.
